Terms & Conditions
Last updated {{ lastUpdated }}
These terms set out how Silk Wings sells to you, how your order is delivered, and the rights you have if you change your mind or something is wrong. Please read them before you place an order. Placing an order means you accept these terms.
1. Who we are
{{ traderIntro }} You can reach us by email at {{ contactEmail }}, and we aim to reply within two working days. We trade online only and do not operate a shop or public premises. Our service address is available in writing on request, and we will provide it to any customer or supplier who asks.
We are not currently registered for VAT, so all prices shown are the total you pay and no VAT is added at checkout.
2. Your order
When you complete checkout you are making an offer to buy. A contract between us is formed when we send you an email confirming that your order has been accepted. If we cannot accept your order, for example because an item is out of stock or we cannot deliver to your address, we will tell you and refund any payment in full.
We sell only to consumers, and you must be at least 18 years old to place an order.
3. The product
Every Silk Wings curler is made by hand. Fabric print placement, exact shade and small finishing details vary slightly from one piece to the next, so the item you receive will not be an identical match to the photographs on our website. This is a characteristic of a handmade product rather than a fault.
Curl result and hold depend on your individual hair structure, length and condition, and on how long the ribbon is worn. We describe the method honestly but cannot guarantee a particular result.
4. Price and payment
The price of the product is the price shown on the website at the time you order. Payment is taken at checkout by Stripe, which accepts debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We never see or store your full card details.
If a price is obviously wrong through an error on our part, we will contact you before dispatch and you may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.
5. Delivery
We deliver to addresses within the United Kingdom and delivery is free. Orders are dispatched within {{ dispatchWindow }} of your order being confirmed, and sent by Royal Mail. Once dispatched, delivery normally takes a further two to three working days.
If delivery is delayed by something outside our control we will let you know as soon as we can. Where delivery has not taken place within 30 days of your order you may cancel and receive a full refund. The goods become your responsibility once they are delivered to the address you gave us.
6. If you change your mind
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from the day you receive your order to tell us you wish to cancel, without giving a reason. You then have a further 14 days to send the item back.
To cancel, email us at {{ contactEmail }} with your name and order number. A clear statement is enough; you do not need to use a particular form.
Once you have told us you are cancelling we will email you the return address. Please return the item unused, in a clean and resaleable condition, with its ties and clip. You pay the cost of return postage and we recommend a tracked service, as the item remains your responsibility until it reaches us. For hygiene reasons we cannot resell a curler that has been worn in the hair, and where an item is returned used or damaged we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value.
We refund to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving the item back, or of you showing us proof that you have sent it.
7. If something is wrong with your order
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the product must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it is faulty, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered, email us with a photograph and we will arrange a replacement or a full refund including return postage. These rights are in addition to your right to change your mind and nothing in these terms affects them.
8. Safe use
Every order includes a printed instruction card, and the same guidance appears on our care and safety page. Please follow it. The curler is a styling accessory, not a medical or professional salon device, and it is not recommended for severely damaged, bleached or matting-prone hair without first applying a leave-in treatment or oil.
We are not liable for mechanical damage to hair caused by use contrary to those instructions, or by pulling or tugging the ribbon out rather than drawing it smoothly upwards. Keep the ribbon, ties and clip away from young children.
9. Our liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or under your statutory consumer rights.
10. Complaints and governing law
If you are unhappy with your order or with how we have handled it, email {{ contactEmail }} and we will respond within five working days. If we cannot resolve matters between us you can contact Citizens Advice for free guidance.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.
Anything here that is not clear, email {{ contactEmail }} and we will explain it in plain terms.
